Week 6 Build Season

Slingshot Movie Premiere


Slingshot tell the story of Denim Man (Dean Kamen), a wealthy, genius inventor who is mystified by a global epidemic. Using his intelligence and ingenuity, Dean building a high-tech machine, using low-tech parts, that turns unfit water (seawater, poisoned wells, river sludge) into pure, safe water, without chemicals or filters. This is the inspirational story of the founder of DEKA, inventor of the Segway, creator of FIRST Robotics, and global philanthropist; from his early dreams of owning his own helicopter through is successful career as an inventor, entrepreneur, and humanitarian striving to solve the world's water crisis. Make sure you spread the word of the screening!

Business and Marketing 

The Business and Marketing team has submitted awards such as the Woodie Flowers Award and the Entrepreneurship Award. The team is working hard on both the Chairman's Essay and the Chairman's Video for the Chairman's Award, one of the most prestigious awards in FIRST Robotics.

 

Programming

The programming team has been compiling the code together essentially completing the bot. The gyros working and the final bit of code has been tested on the robot. Drive code is important to the programming team and is working well.

 

Build

The build team is currently working on the arms, brackets, and duck tails. The wheel module, winch, and arm roller are important for the build team right now. The robot's finish date is TBD, but the drive functionality will definitely be ready for Sussex.

 

Electrical

The electrical team has been helping the build team assemble the robot during this final week. After making sure the hardware is all mounted, they focused on hooking up the lift system. Pneumatics and the winch are the final chores for the electrical team.
