Mechanical

Mechanical has been waiting for the design group to put their practice and training to the test; nearing the end of week three design has delivered. In the beginning of week three mechanical was receiving designs for chassis parts which they were finishing up as soon as they got them. They had their rookies working on aluminum and even used the CNC machining center to work on plates. Lately they have been receiving drive train parts from design and they have finished the brackets for the designs they had received. Finally all the chassis pieces have been cut down to size.  The mechanical team also had a new experience with the lathe as they used it to make chain tensioners.

Business and Marketing

During week three, group BAM of Saber Robotics has been busy with award submissions, website modifications and FIRST Robotics outreach. Recently they have been finishing up their submissions for Woodie Flowers and Chairman's, and have started the Business Plan and Digital Media write-ups. Their media team has been taking numerous videos and pictures in preparation for their Chairman's Presentation and the Weekly Newsletter. The website design team has been working non-stop on their new website in order to make it available as soon as possible . The business team is also reaching out to their sponsors as well as local vendors for fundraising. Finally they have also been working on community outreach by writing a newspaper article for the City of Franklin Newsletter about FIRST Team 2506.

Design

Entering week three design had a lot on its plate. At the start of this week design was working on Auto-CADing the systems and creating working drawings.  As of now they have finished the working drawings for the drive train and chassis. They have also started designing bumpers, the intake roller system, and mounting the pneumatic compressor. Design has split up to tackle different components of the robot decided by their design matrix, for example one group is working on the robot arms while another focuses on the intake system. Finally they have been working profusely to get as many parts as possible into the shop for mechanical as well as creating another test bot in order to finalize the Team 2506 drive team.

Programming

Programmers have been given a variety of tasks within week three along with the coding of the robot. So far they have completed the code for the tank drive of this year's robot and currently are finishing up the code for the robot arms. Programming is working on code which directs the pneumatic system and are eager to test their code on the robot. As of now they are working with electrical to direct how the pneumatic system will work. They are also experimenting with a camera on the robot and at the same time processing some new autonomous code. Some programmers are also working with BAM Excel experts and design to program a new scouting system. Furthermore some programmers are helping the BAM website design team with modifications to the website and also with updates to the Saber Robotics Play-store application. The PR team of BAM has also requested the programmers to construct an animation which will serve as a introduction for every FIRST Team 2506 video. Overall programming has their group members interacting with many other groups to ensure efficiency using teamwork.

Electrical

The blooming electrical team has created a day-to-day plan in order to decide what they must accomplish. Week three has the electrical team in the process of constructing a rough draft of the electrical board on Inventor. They are further familiarizing themselves with the wiring of last year's robot in order to gain experience before they wire this year's robot. Electrical has been using the practice robot to test the installation and wiring of limit switches and pneumatic system. As of now they're using Auto-CAD to redesign the practice robot to be similar to the actual robot; this is in order to prepare wiring the actual robot. Finally electrical is working with programming on the pneumatic system and are searching and ordering any parts necessary to wire the robot.

Safety

Throughout the first three weeks the new safety group has taught the team about personal protection equipment and fire safety. For week three they are focusing on robot and competition safety. The safety team has been giving presentations, graded quizzes and live tests such as lifting procedure for the robot.
