Electrical

The electrical team this week have been learning and applying new techniques. Alumni have come back for multiple meetings, teaching current electrical members new wiring techniques. After looking at the wiring of the original wood bot, electrical started the wiring on the new one. The main focus for the new wood bot has been trying to finishing wiring the tank drive.

Business and Marketing

The business and marketing team has had an exciting week. Both the Chairman’s and Woodie Flowers were finished and submitted on Wednesday. Along with that, the Chairman’s video and presentation has been started. Members of the team have started to send out the invitations to government officials and sponsors. As always, the Saber Robotics website is continuing to be updated.

Design

For the past week, design has been working to finish and mount the remaining drive modules. Although they experienced some complications with wrong parts and miscalculations, the team has made substantial progress, and are farther towards reaching their goals than they were in previous years. Finally, the design team was able to construct a second wooden robot containing the drive train for electrical and programming to work with.

Programming

This week programming has been focusing on making sure the chassis for the new wood bot works, in preparation for the real robot. One challenge the team has been facing is trying to contain the power consumption of the chassis because it is currently consuming too much. The team also worked on mock robots, practicing with ultrasonic sensors and pneumatics. Overall, just trying to be prepared as possible for the real robot.

Safety

The safety team this week was busy preparing the midterm. It consisted of random questions from previous tests. The retakes for the test are being done on Saturday .The team has also started preparation for the next safety test which will be focused on electrical safety.
