We're well on our way to success –Welcome to Week Two and Three of the Team 2506 Saber Robotics build season!
Welcome to Week 2 of Build Season! It’s been 3 weeks since we began Build season, and the students are hard at work putting our plans into action. Now that we have learned of our challenge, the robot has been beginning to come together.
The process of building a robot starts with Design. The design team has come up with many ideas for the robot this year. They have brainstormed many ideas for systems, and have split into small groups to create a sub system. The subteam has began cading, and have created working drawings for the robot. And once they are finished, they will send the drawings to the mechanical team, where they will begin building the parts.
The mechanical team, once they get the drawings from design, begin making the parts using the mill, bandsaw, and other various machines that are used to allow them to make those parts. So far, they have made the chassis and are currently working on parts for the winch, along with parts for the intake system. Over the course of the next week, the parts will begin to come together, and soon will head off to the Electrical team.
